[Series] Defense of Environmental Defenders

The Resource Hub Platform (CEFO Indígena) is pleased to present the first season of the “Defense of Environmental Defenders” podcast series. This series was designed to be available in different platforms in order to make it easily accessible for indigenous peoples, thus making CEFO’s work visible and supporting AIDESEP, COICA and other allies in achieving their objectives.

The series “Defense of Environmental Defenders” uses a radio language that can be applied to other media to bring us closer to the people. The radio programs have a duration of approximately 5-7 minutes, divided by themaical season. Its dissemination will be through whatsapp (mainly, although it can also be uploaded to other platforms) and directly to the Network of regional communicators (9 people who are responsible for disseminating AIDESEP’s messages). A communication strategy was designed through a cooperative and self-management approach, with communities identified based on AIDESEP-CEFO criteria.

Also, existing community/virtual radios have been identified with which we have worked jointly for the creation and dissemination of content. These are:

Radio La Voz de la Selva, of the Amazon Social Promotion Institute (IPSA), with the frequency FM 93.9 that has a radio range of 75 kilometers from the city of Iquitos, and OCT 4825 with a range of the entire Loreto region.

Radio millennium of Radio Televisión Doble RL EIRL, with FM 106.9 frequencies from Lamas with a reach of 44 districts in the provinces of Lamas, San Martín, Picota, El Dorado, Bellavista, Moyobamba, Alto Amazonas and Mariscal Cáceres, as well as in the FM 99.3 frequency from Tocache with a range of 21 localities between the most representative districts and Population Centers of the Province of Tocache.

The central idea is to strengthen the existing radios to take advantage of platforms that allow the expansion of the CEFO platform and its programs in the Peruvian territory.
