Crafts Made by Young Indigenous leaders in Nuevo San José, Campeche México

Luis Enrique Martínez is from the community of Nuevo San José, in the state of Campeche, Mexico.

In this video prepared by the Consejo Regional Indígena y Popular de Xpujil, Luis explains how he learned to make crafts using seeds that he collected. He learned how to do this through the cultural knowledge of his grandmother. Luis then goes on to talk about the importance of conserving these traditions .

The idea is that ​​the young people of the community need to take advantage of natural resources in order to be able to carry out local economic activities.
