To do so, we invited all indigenous creators and graphic designers to participate in this competition. The competition was held <strong>between Tuesday, March 9 to Monday, March 22, 2021.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Participants were asked to submit original and creative sketches for the logo incorporating an indigenous world view.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Participant&#8217;s Average Age<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>We had a <strong>total of 26 participants registered and 11 participants who sent over proposals that met all the criteria<\/strong> (<a href=\"https:\/\/cefoindigena.org\/en\/artistic-proposals-for-the-cefo-logo\/\">check out the sketches here!)<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cefoindigena.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/Screen-Shot-2021-05-07-at-11.26.47-AM.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2412\"\/><figcaption>Participants average ages. 42% of the participants are between 27-33 years old, followed by a 27% between 34-40 years old.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cefoindigena.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/Screen-Shot-2021-05-07-at-11.26.56-AM.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2415\"\/><figcaption>61.5% of participants were male (in blue) and 38.5% of participants were female (in red).<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The winner of the competition was <strong>Abel Apaza,<\/strong> a young indigenous student from Puno, Peru (Quichua). Abel was chosen by a selecting committee made up of Tuntiak Katan (<em>COICA&#8217;s Vice Coordinator<\/em>), Soledad Mills (<em>EO&#8217;s Chief Executive Officer<\/em>) and Antonio Medina (<em>Red Ind\u00edgena de Turismo de Mexico Representative<\/em>). <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Abel&#8217;s design incorporates an indigenous world while linking indigenous rights to the access of information through connectivity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-resized\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cefoindigena.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/Screen-Shot-2021-05-07-at-11.15.29-AM-1.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2408\" width=\"602\" height=\"341\"\/><figcaption>Resource Hub&#8217;s New Logo (2021)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group is-layout-flow wp-block-group-is-layout-flow\">\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote has-text-align-center is-style-large is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>\u00abI would like to thank all of you for permitting me to have this space to express my ideas and encouraging participation. This is a good opportunity to see the creativity of Indigenous Peoples who carry the legacy of their peoples. This allows us to understand different points of view.
