El objetivo principal de esta visita fue la reuni\u00f3n el d\u00eda 14 de octubre con la nueva dirigencia de AIDESEP , cuyo nuevo presidente, el Apu Jorge P\u00e9rez Rubio, dio el visto bueno para la renovaci\u00f3n del convenio marco de cooperaci\u00f3n entre ambas instituciones. Este convenio fue ratificado por ambas partes el d\u00eda 21 de octubre del 2021.<\/p>\n<p>During the meeting, both organizations analyzed possible areas for cooperation. These include:connectivity initiatives, in person and virtual workshops, and to create a network of indigenous experts to support the defense of indigenous defenders in the Amazon rainforest. The meeting allowed the team to familiarize themselves with the problems that Indigenous Peoples in the Peruvian Aaazon have been facing throughout r the pandemic. Furthermore, the team started to put together a work plan that is aligned with AIDESEP\u2019s priorities during the next 5 years of management.<\/p>\n<p>Joaquin Wray, Equitable Origin Program Coordinator in Peru presenting the 2022 workplan (Photo: Emilio Pallares)<\/p>\n<p>Adem\u00e1s de la reuni\u00f3n con la dirigencia de AIDESEP, el equipo de EO mantuvo reuniones virtuales con Derecho, Ambiente y Recursos Naturales (DAR ), CooperAcci\u00f3n y Jos\u00e9 Ar\u00e9valo, profesor de la PUCP y experto en proyectos de comunicaciones con un vasto conocimiento sobre el estado de las radios comunitarias en el Per\u00fa. Asimismo, coincidentemente, el equipo de Amazon Frontlines que apoya a las comunidades Secoyas del Per\u00fa y Ecuador se encontraba en Lima para una serie de reuniones con autoridades del Ministerio de Cultura y Agricultura del Per\u00fa. Fue motivo de tener un encuentro informal para discutir posibles espacios de colaboraci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p>The meeting with DAR served to present and coordinate collaboration for the possible application of the FPIC 360 Tool and a space for feedback with the main stakeholders. On the other hand, CooperAcci\u00f3n, an organization with 25 years of work on issues related to human rights and extractive industries, was willing to build a work agenda with EO to promote the strengthening of indigenous rights.
