In April 2021, along with the Coordinator of Indigenous Organizations of the Amazon Basin (COICA) we sought out to change the Resource Hub's logo. To do so, we invited all indigenous creators and graphic designers to participate in this competition. The competition was held between Tuesday, March 9 to Monday, March 22, 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Participants were asked to submit original and creative sketches for the logo incorporating an indigenous world view.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We had a total of 26 participants registered and 11 participants who sent over proposals that met all the criteria. 42% of the participants are between 27\u201333 years old, followed by a 27% between 34\u201340 years old. 61.5% of participants were male (in blue) and 38.5% of participants were female (in red).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The winner of the competition was Abel Apaza, a young indigenous student from Puno, Peru (Quichua). Abel was chosen by a selecting committee made up of Tuntiak Katan ( COICA's Vice Coordinator), Soledad Mills (EO's Chief Executive Officer) and Antonio Medina (Red Ind\u00edgena de Turismo de Mexico Representative).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Abel's design incorporates an indigenous world while linking indigenous rights to the access of information through connectivity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
