Silvana Nihua is from the Waorani nationality. She travelled several hours to be able to attend the workshop in Macas to share her unique experience regarding Free, Prior and Informed Consent. She briefly talks about the trial that the Waorani people won in 2012 when a Judge ruled in their favor claiming that the FPIC process in had been violated.
Silvana mentions that the unity among community members and organization allowed them to gain victory which took about 5 years.
