On August 9, the world celebrates the International Day of Indigenous Peoples (IP).
According to the United Nations (UN): “Indigenous peoples represent a great diversity: more than 5,000 different groups in over 90 countries who speak over 7,000 different languages around the world. They are made up of approximately 370 million people, which makes up about 5% of the world population. ”
Equitable Origin congratulates this global initiative and takes advantage of this date to present that in alliance with Coordinator of Indigenous Organizations of the Amazon Basin (COICA), since 2019, both organizations have designed and developed the Resource Hub to strengthen indigenous rights (CEFO Indígena). The Resource Hub is a virtual library that empowers Indigenous Peoples to understand, affirm and use their rights in the context of the exploitation of the natural resources in their territories.
EO and COICA impart content for the strengthening of indigenous rights, through clear and continuous information through digital mechanisms and face-to-face workshops.
